It has become a somewhat consuming engagement, playing a cat ‘n mouse game with their competitors who seem to be mimicking our efforts to blur the destinctions between them and us.

It’s great fun but I find myself thinking about self storage day and night.  So what do I think about self storage and self storage companies, especially in Enfield and Edmonton?

When I hear the words self storage, I not only think of red boxes(!) but have come to consider the service as a viable option for me.

So what is self storage? Well, it is usually a facility or building where we store our stuff for a fee. The services offered are expanding to include mobile storage, where they drop off a container for you to load which is then collected later and stored in a warehouse, in addition to the usual storage rooms and archiving services. These sites are becoming more common, especially in the South East of England.

Why is it becoming popular to use self storage? It is a great option to keep stuff when it’s not in use. As our lives change, we move around, have varying amounts of space in our homes, self storage reduces the need to throw things out and then repurchase so its flexibilty fits the moderm life.

How do you select a self storage company? You should look at how a potential supplier charges, their location, access to your stuff, and services offered (preferably as standard). I like Big and Red because their pricing is simple (they quote you one figure which is includes insurance), they are local to me (Enfield, North London), they collect, and they are very friendly, offering advice and options I would not necessarily have thought of. For example, a combination of mobile (crated) storage and self storage rooms to bring down the overall cost based on my requirements.
